According to statistics from the Italian steelmakers' association Federacciai, Italy’s crude steel production totaled around 1.93 million tons in October, falling by 4.4% compared to the same month a year ago.
During the period, the output of Italy’s flat steel products rose by 10% year on year to around 904,000 tons, and that of long products decreased by 1.4% year on year to around 1.1 million tons.
In the first ten months of this year, Italy produced a total of approximately 17.9 million tons of crude steel, a year-on-year drop of 3.4%. The output of flat steel products slid by 1.4% year on year to 8.1 million tons, and that of long products was down by 3.7% year on year to 9.9 million tons.
