According to statistics from Brazil Steel Institute (Instituto Aço Brasil, IABr), the country’s crude steel production totaled 2.7 million tons in November this year, rising by 3.8% compared to the same month a year ago.

During the period, Brazil’s steel imposts grew by 9.2% year on year to 356,000 tons, while the import value fell by 7% year on year to US$402 million. Steel exports rose by 20% year on year to 971,000 tons, and the value hiked by 5.7% year on year to US$723 million.

In the first 11 months of this year, Brazil’s crude steel production amounted to 29.4 million tons, a year-on-year drop of 7.1%. Steel imports rose by 50% to 4.5 million tons, and steel exports dropped by 0.9% to 11 million tons, both year on year.
