According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 72,000 tons of steel coils in June, decreasing by 23% compared to the previous month and by 43% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 46,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 7% and a year-on-year drop of 36.6%. Other major import sources included Mexico (around 8,600 tons), South Korea (around 6,400 tons), and the Netherlands (around 4,900 tons).
During the period, the import value was approximately US$67 million, down by 24% month on month and by 49% year on year.
