According to data from the Ukrainian steel association Ukrmetallurgprom, from January to October this year, Ukraine's steel consumption was 2.62 million tons, down 9.9% year-on-year, of which imports were 1.04 million tons.

The main importing countries are other European countries (49.6%), EU27 (28.2%), and Asia (20.4%). Among them, the import volume of steel plates and profiles was 823,400 tons and 196,100 tons, respectively, up 9% and 12% year-on-year.

In terms of exports, in the first ten months of this year, Ukraine's exports of steel plates, semi-finished steel, and profiles were 1.5 million tons, 1.71 million tons, and 528,000 tons, respectively, up 63.0%, 58.5%, and 22% year-on-year.

The main export markets are EU27 (70.1%), Africa (11.1%), and other European countries (7.6%).
