According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending November 16, 2024, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.623 million net tons, decreasing by 1.6% from the same period a week ago and dropping by 3.8% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 73.1%, down by 1.1% week on week and by 0.3% year on year.
As of the week ending November 16, 2024, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 77.383 million short tons, sliding by 2.1% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 76.0%, down by 0.1% year on year.
