The preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) showed that the US imported around 219,400 tons of hot-dip galvanized (HDG) sheets and strips in October, falling by 11% compared to the previous month and rising by 28% from the same month a year ago.
The imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 78,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 3% and a year-on-year increase of 0.9%. Vietnam followed with a supply of around 33,000 tons.
During the period, the import value of these products totaled roughly US$249 million, down by 5.8% month on month and up by 38% year on year.
