According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US exported approximately 128,800 tons of hot-dip galvanized (HDG) sheets and strips in January, a 40% increase compared to the previous month and a 3.7% drop from the same month a year earlier.
Mexico remained the largest export destination, receiving around 74,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 30.5% and a year-on-year hike of 7.7%. Canada followed with around 54,000 tons, while exports to other destinations were relatively small.
The total export value of these products during the period was nearly US$185 million, a 43% increase compared to the prior month and a 0.7% fall from the same month of 2024.
