Malaysia's Eastern Steel Sdn Bhd has officially commissioned a new skin pass line with an annual production capacity of 650,000 metric tons, marking another step in the company's strategy to enhance the quality of its hot-rolled steel products and expand its portfolio of high-value-added products. 

The new production line commenced commercial operation on July 20, following an 11-month construction period. It is designed to process hot-rolled strip with thicknesses ranging from 1.2 mm to 6.0 mm and heavy-gauge recoiled products from 1.2 mm to 12.0 mm.

Construction of the project began in August, 2025, and all equipment installation, commissioning, and performance testing were completed as scheduled before the line entered operation.
